I'll be the first to admit that I'm really not much of a gardener. I endured 2 years of agriculture as a subject in secondary school. Fast forward to now and my gardening skills are no better. But this year I am determined to grow a vegetable garden and I am digging (pun intended) into patience reserves I didn't even know I had!
So, today as I was walking in my backyard, something caught my eye, vivid, vibrant, dazzling. I turned and took a closer look, and beheld my Wednesday Wonder-a dark cerise pink hydrangea in all its glory. The edges of the petals kissed with blue.
Now, I definitely know that I have not paid much attention to that corner of my backyard. In spite of me and my paucity of gardening skills, this hydrangea is thriving. It was at that moment that it occurred to me that most times nature does not need our help. All our striving does not contribute to or add to what will be, and is in that moment-100 percent nature shines and speaks for itself.
So today, take a moment to appreciate the wonder and beauty of nature without taking any credit for it.
